Switch specs vary by batch and by measurement method — factory tolerances run ±5–10 g on spring force, and "sound" descriptions are community impressions, not lab data. Lubed and filmed switches change feel materially from stock.

Hot-swap sockets accept only 3/5-pin MX switches; Low Profile and optical switches are physically incompatible. Verify your board's socket standard before ordering.

Accuracy of calculations

We implement well-known, publicly documented formulas (see the methodology section on each calculator page and manufacturer specification sheets and force-curve data as applicable). Even correctly implemented formulas produce estimates that depend on your inputs and assumptions. Real-world outcomes vary. Do not rely on a single web tool for a consequential decision.
